Jay Nadeau (owner and operator) began apprenticing his father in 1996 on weekends during leave from the United States Marine Corps. In 2002, Jay took full-time employement with his father after his military enrollment was fulfilled. Jay's father had also followed the same course of apprenticing from his father, and then eventually starting his own family run business. Jay was destined to be a tile setter. It is part of his family heritage. While working at Nadeau Tile he began by taking side jobs of his own. While on a project he met another tile setter who had a business in Orange County California that primarily focused on stone. Jay had a desire to learn stone so he began to work for GEM Stone.
Jay worked with the owner of GEM Stone for just a few months when he got an opportunity to do a job in Bozeman, Montana. Jay fell in love with Montana. Eight weeks later he and his wife were packed up and headed to Bozeman, Montana. The recent transplants started JaCo Tile. |

While living in Montana, Jay had arranged a business trip to Phoenix, AZ with the possibility of bigger and better work opportunities. Once again, the bags were packed, and the car was headed to the desert-town of Scottsdale, AZ.
